Physical Vapour Deposition Facility – Nano-
composite, Thin Film & Metal coating.
EnSol has extensive experience in vacuum deposition of thin film and composite materials (chiefly using magnetron techniques). We currently have 2 deposition facilities able to coat substrates up to 10 cm x 10 cm. Our largest system has the flexibility of changing between 4 different deposition sources, including nanoparticle, and nanoparticle / composite “co-deposition”. The system can also be used for metal coating (metalisation) of smaller equipment. EnSol can offer on-demand prototype nano-composite thin-film deposition services to support your own R&D activities as well as custom nanoparticle / deposition system design, fabrication and testing.
Circuit Board Design
We offer in-house Printed Circuit Board design, assembly and testing, with rapid cost-effective turn over. Mechanical design and fabrication
We have the equipment needed for design and fabrication of small mechanical or mechatronic prototypes. These type of fabrications can be combined with electronics to meet client requirements. Our core expertise lies in our ability to bridge the gap between cutting-edge science and practical engineering implementation. In-house CAD designs can be rapidly prototyped in our small on-site mechanical workshop (in plastics / non-ferrous metals).

EnSol’s development team has a long history of mechanical design for high-tech applications; including scientific experimental work, prototype housings and vacuum equipment and chambers.Larger parts (vacuum chamber etc.) can be outsourced to one of our cost-effective suppliers.
EnSol AS was funded by a collaboration between a few Norwegian businessmen and a adventurous English scientist in 2009. They started with a dream to make solar panels with a 30 % efficiency. EnSol started building the Physical Vapour Deposition system so they could deposit both thin layers of materials, and nano-particles from 5x5 cm too 10x10 cm glass substrates. The system works well and EnSol’s experience of using the system is essential for EnSol’s research projects.EnSol has had multiple research projects on Solar energy, PVD process development, thin film capacitors and is currently working on a lanthanide neutron detector project. EnSol is also working for a start- up company on their wireless charging technology. EnSol has developed a magnetron system for nano-particle deposition witch can be modified for potential client’s PVD systems.
